Gourmet Mixed Greens for Cats and/or Small Dogs

I bought a pack of "organically grown seeds for kitties" at OSH
hardware. It contains rye, oats, barley, and wheat greens. I start three or four containers at a time. When they are well grown I put them where the cats hang out and they do the rest.
The brand is "Renee's Garden", http://www.reneesgarden.com/ . It
cost $5.99 for 60 grams of seeds. Some cats love it and others don't seem to notice it. I think that it might be a favorite treat for small dogs too if you place it in a strategic place.

You can see that Mommy cat loves it.

But the aligators don't care for it.

Anyway, it's just a good idea for some needed nutrition for our
furry friends.

Two other brands for "cat grass" are:

1. "Sweet Greens"

For about $3.oo you'll get 28 grams of oat seed and a small tub of potting soil. That's enough seeds for a couple of plantings.

2."Vita-Greens"

About the same price you'll get 30 grams of seeds. Three types of grass seeds (Barley, Oat and Wheat). Again, enough for 2 plantings.

I picked up these two at Wall-Mart. A little cheaper than the pet food stores.

You might consider picking up organic seeds in bulk at "Rayley's" grocery stores, etc. I'm not sure if these will sprout, so don't buy too much at a time.

Once you bring the sprouted grass indoors it will gradually loose vitality so keep sprouting more for a happy kitty.
